The ideal candidate must have prior experience in managing technology organizations and delivery of technology services to both the administrative and instructional communities in a college or university.
The CIO must have experience in higher education, knowledge of the applications used to support administration and the technologies to enable instructional delivery, database management systems, voice and data network technologies and knowledge of emerging technologies such as web-portals.
The CIO is responsible for working with faculty and staff to develop and communicate the status of technology plans and initiatives. CIO is responsible for management of administrative and instructional technology support staff. CIO is responsible for promoting and delivering quality service to the faculty, staff and students.
The CIO will provide leadership in the development of distance education programs, training program for faculty and assisting in the development and delivery of web- based courses.
The CIO will also be responsible for providing frequent status reports about major technology initiatives to the senior management.
