Harvard University’s Division of Continuing Education (DCE) implemented the Banner Student System in the late 1980s, when the product was not as robust and rich in functionality as it is today. Over the years, they made significant customizations to it in order to meet their unique needs. As a result, they did not implement some of the improved functionality when it was released by Ellucian. DCE engaged SIG to assist them to move to Banner 9 and reduce the number of customizations. Recently, SIG has helped DCE to make substantial advancements and to take advantage of time-saving opportunities in the Student Accounts Receivable area, which included implementation of 1098-Ts and using functionality for refunding within baseline Banner.
