Portland State University’s data was inconsistent and spread across several technology silos. We helped them increase efficiencies across their business processes, eliminated “shadow systems,” and establish a single source of reliable data.
Bringing Enhanced Business Intelligence to PSU
“SIG offered a unique combination of deep Banner® knowledge and significant BI experience.”
Boosting Enrollments and Academic Opportunity
Eastern New Mexico University needed help encouraging enrollment and increasing student retention. We helped them re-engineer processes to increase enrollment by an estimated $825,000 due to better service to transfers.
“It’s the business process reengineering effort that is the key to success, more so than the product.”
Full ERP Implementation On Schedule, Under Budget
Southwest Tennessee Community College is the largest in the state and needed to improve and automate operations. We helped them with Post-ERP Implementation support to increase services to students, staff efficiency, and enhance IT services.
“This project has delivered significant and powerful benefits. It is especially important for the college to strengthen its service by using its limited resources more effectively.”
Faster Financial Aid: From 50 to 20 Steps
San Mateo Community College District faced a growing number of financial aid applications, increasing the need to evaluate applications quickly to drive higher enrollment. We worked closely with them to speed up the process.
“In 30 years of work in higher education, Business Process Analysis was the most successful way to make big changes in a short period of time.”
Lean Planning Improves Student Intake and Retention
Piedmont Technical College – like so many others – faced declining revenue during the economic downturn in 2008. We identified and reworked key processes to improve student intake, student retention, and employee hiring and onboarding.
“SIG consultants are excellent – knowledgeable, skilled, professional and experienced. I highly recommend SIG.“
Eliminated 230 HR Forms and Shadow Systems
California’s South Orange County Community College District needed help improving processes in HR and Finance on its two campuses. We updated their 26-year-old HR and Finance systems, combining them into one ERP to manage their work processes.
SIG has worked closely with SOCCCD for several years to conduct multiple technology procurements which included the selection of the Workday® ERP. SIG provided client-side project management for that implementation.
Increased Efficiency, $216,146 in Annual Savings
The Tennessee Board of Regents is responsible for 46 campuses and over 200,000 students. We helped them standardize how each institution conducts business to create a consistent experience for students, faculty, and staff at every campus.
“There is no conceivable way, in my mind, that success would have been possible without the expertise and exceptional service of the SIG team.”
