What is an iPaaS? What is Dell Boomi?
How many third-party applications does your university use every day? Don’t be surprised if the number is over 100. That’s typical. Each third-party application requires an integration with your enterprise application. Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) simplifies building and maintaining such integrations by facilitating visual drag and drop features. A mature iPaaS enables real-time integration of application and data regardless of their type and location. Introduced in 2008 as one of the first iPaaS platforms and acquired by Dell in 2010, Dell Boomi is an industry leading iPaaS specializing in cloud-based integration, API management, and Master Data Management. For the seventh consecutive year, Boomi was named a 2020 Magic Quadrant Leader in Enterprise Integration Platform as a Service.
In addition to cloud-based integration, Dell Boomi has a consistently updated library of connectors to facilitate on-premises and hybrid integrations, which allow organizations to integrate any combination of cloud to cloud, cloud to on-premises, and on-premises to on-premises applications and data.
How Does it Work?
Dell Boomi’s intuitive interface allows you to drag and drop applications you want to connect.
An integration life cycle in Dell Boomi is a three-step process:
Step 1: Build
Forget scripting. Forget hundreds of lines of codes. Using Dell Boomi AtomSphere’s library of connectors and components, you can visually design and build integration processes. These processes are loaded into an “Atom”, which is a lightweight, dynamic run-time engine.
Step 2: Deploy
Cloud, on-premises, or hybrid – in Dell Boomi you can deploy your Atoms to AtomSphere for cloud integration, SaaS, PaaS or behind a firewall.
Step 3: Manage
Upon building and deploying integrations, Dell Boomi allows you to monitor and control the status of all deployed entities regardless of type and location in real-time.
- Dell Boomi enables enterprise applications and data integration regardless of their type and location.
- With lightweight Atom and web-based interface, Dell Boomi allows visual drag and drop integrations.
